In response to President Biden and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy reaching a deal on the debt ceiling, Nicole Jorwic, chief of advocacy and campaigns at Caring Across Generations, released a statement.

Disability and aging groups and Senator Bob Casey were joined by care advocates and nearly 500 activists from around the country for a Save Medicaid Online Rally on May 24.

Today, elected leaders introduced the Family And Medical Insurance Leave (FAMILY) Act and the Healthy Families Act to address the country’s paid family and medical leave crisis.

In response to President Joe Biden’s speech this afternoon in Valhalla, New York regarding the debt limit, Nicole Jorwic, chief of advocacy and campaigns at Caring Across Generations, released a statement.

On Friday, Governor Brian Kemp removed the legislature’s bipartisan approval of the Department of Behavioral Health and Human Services $6/hour wage increase recommendation for direct care workers supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the final FY 2024 budget. 

Following the Biden Administration releasing the largest slate of executive actions for care in history, Michigan legislators and the Care Can't Wait Michigan Coalition gathered Thursday at the Capitol for the first meeting of the Bipartisan Care Caucus meeting to create a space in the state legislature devoted to the issue of care, as well as to uplifting women of color caregivers and those receiving care across the state of Michigan.
