Care Can’t Wait Coalition and Partners Host First-Of-Its-Kind ‘Care Workers Can’t Wait Summit’
WASHINGTON, D.C. – In an unprecedented show of unity of workers and leaders across the care economy, the Care Can’t Wait Coalition, National Domestic Workers Alliance, SEIU, AFL-CIO, AFT, AFSCME, Community Change, and Care in Action will gather in Washington, D.C. for the first ever Care Workers Can’t Wait Summit on April 18 and 19 to address the needs of care workers and carve out a path forward that strengthens our care infrastructure and economy.
This summit launches a renewed effort to educate the nation, improve the quality of jobs, and recognize care workers for fighting for an equitable care economy that centers all workers across care industries.
Care workers and attendees will gather with prominent guest speakers, from public figures like Morena Baccarin to members of Congress, including Senator Tammy Duckworth, Democratic Whip Katherine Clark, and representatives Angie Craig, Jimmy Gomez, Pramila Jayapal, Jan Schakowsky, and Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
