Kathy Mendes, Policy Associate, is a researcher and advocate based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She cares deeply about creating a society where people are cared for and feel responsible for one another and is committed to centering equity in public policy. Prior to joining the team at Caring Across Generations, she worked as a policy analyst at The Commonwealth Institute for Fiscal Analysis in Richmond, Virginia, providing policy support for a variety of issues, and in particular, K-12 education. Previously, she worked as a reading instructor in Richmond City public schools in Virginia. She holds a B.S. in Sociology from Virginia Commonwealth University. Born and raised in Virginia, she is the proud daughter of immigrants. She also loves music, film, unions, and her cat, Boss.
