Kourtney Colbert, Foundation Engagement Associate, is a first-generation college graduate who comes to Caring Across with a background in Field Organizing, Legislative Research, Program Coordination, and Campaign Fundraising. She was raised by a single mother in a low-income household so, at a very young age, she recognized the injustices faced by women of color who bear the brunt of caregiving responsibilities in our communities. While working towards her bachelor’s degree in Political Science at New York University, she began working on progressive campaigns and organizations that promote policies such as mandatory paid family leave, higher wages for the working class, racial equity, and increased access to affordable child and eldercare. Kourtney resides in Brooklyn, NY and when she’s not working, she enjoys cooking, gallery hopping, yoga, and traveling.
